What is Gua Sha?
Gua sha originated in Asia and has been used by both laypersons and professionals to treat common pains and aches.
Gua sha directly translates to āscratchā and āsandā. The sand analogy refers to the tiny red dots that may emerge when you apply the tool to the skin in a scraping motion.ā ā
The appearance of āshaā indicates you have just facilitated improved circulation and removed toxins, promoting flow and mobility.
āYou canĀ experience immediate relief of muscle tension, numbness, edema, or joint pain by applying gua sha even just once!

According to Chinese medicine and Ayurveda, rivers of energy flow throughout our body corresponding with our vital organs.
The smooth flow of these channels affects our skinās health, joints, muscles, blood, lymph, bones, nerves, and reproductive system.
In other words, when you gently scrape the skin on your face and body with a gua sha tool, you stimulate the flow of fluids and energy and improve the functioning of your entire body.
The effect is transformational.
Do I need to purchase a Gua Sha tool before I join this course?
Likely, you can find a suitable object to practice gua sha at your own home! Items such as a ceramic soup spoon, a smooth thin stone, or a large coin, are all good to get started.
If you wish to own a special tool that will serve you best, below are my favorite resources:
Ripple Gua Sha - (Shop based In Europe) - A luxurious masterfully designed one-of-a-kind artisan gua sha tools.
Dhyana Essentials - (A shop based in California) has a nice selection of wood gua shas.
I prefer wood gua shas since wood is warm to the touch, non-slippery, and durable (doesn't break easily).
Relieve muscle pain
Gua Sha can be used to improve blood circulation to muscle fibers, release built-up tension, and allow more freedom of movement in muscles and joints.
Promote lymphatic drainage
Gua sha can eliminate fluid build-up, which in turn reduces puffiness and edema. It can also release toxins stuck in the lymph nodes and encourage lymphatic drainage which results in improved immune response.
Revitalize your skin
Regular Gua sha application will release facial tension and stimulate the flow of micronutrients to encourage skin cells renewal and erase fine lines, as well as reduce scar tissue, inflammation, puffiness, and cellulite.
